April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball stars who won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross will also be hoping for her first Olympic gold. Since she's 39 years old she could have her final chance. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they play their best, and even play well her team will be able to win the gold medal. In addition, I'll try some chance. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister were residents there. She was able to participate in a myriad of sports at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran the track as well as her indoor volleyball achievements in her time as a college athlete. Though she excelled when playing indoors however, it was evident that her skills were above normal. When she played in her high school volleyball career as per her college profile, she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. In 2000, she received her the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do in 2017. However, Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit prior to the pair. In reality, she's had numerous big wins and one partner was a volleyball superstar. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 through 2013. Kessy's teammate Ross, who won the world title together with Kessy in 2009 was also significant on the an international level. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, edged each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated in high school. This was an impressive performance for Ross during her time at the school. When she was a freshman in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans get to their first Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her second year, but she was able to make it an All-American again. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. The individual accomplishments of her have established her status as a legend in volleyball. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross played international relations as a student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the chance to watch her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to cherish her parents who passed away. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beach.
